Attleboro Youth Soccer Code of Conduct

For Players, Parents/Guardians, Spectators, and Coaches/Volunteers

Attleboro Youth Soccer is dedicated to fostering a positive, respectful, and safe environment that promotes learning, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards expected of everyone involved in our programs to ensure a rewarding experience for all participants.


For Players

As a player representing Attleboro Youth Soccer, I will:

  • Show respect for my teammates, coaches, referees, opponents, and spectators at all times.
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship, win or lose.
  • Follow the rules of the game and the instructions of my coaches and referees.
  • Refrain from using offensive language, gestures, or displaying aggressive behavior.
  • Attend practices and games regularly and arrive on time.
  • Take responsibility for my actions and strive to improve my skills and attitude.
  • Play for fun, development, and the love of the game—not just to win.

For Parents and Guardians

As a parent/guardian, I will:

  • Encourage my child to play by the rules and respect the game, coaches, referees, and opponents.
  • Support all players, including those on the opposing team, with positive reinforcement.
  • Never coach from the sidelines or interfere with coaching decisions during games or practices.
  • Address concerns or conflicts in a respectful and appropriate manner, away from games and practices.
  • Ensure that my child attends practices and games on time and with the proper equipment.
  • Be a positive role model and help create a safe and supportive environment.
  • Refrain from using foul language, derogatory comments, or confrontational behavior.

For Spectators

As a spectator, I will:

  • Promote sportsmanship by cheering in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Respect the authority of coaches, referees, and league officials.
  • Stay on designated sidelines and never enter the field of play.
  • Avoid yelling at players, referees, or coaches.
  • Refrain from negative or disruptive behavior that could affect the enjoyment of the game.
  • Follow facility rules and respect the hosting town or organization.

For Coaches and Volunteers

As a coach or volunteer, I will:

  • Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of all players.
  • Treat all players fairly and respectfully, regardless of skill level, background, or ability.
  • Teach the rules of the game and model good sportsmanship at all times.
  • Create a positive learning environment focused on development and teamwork.
  • Communicate appropriately and respectfully with players, parents, and officials.
  • Never engage in or allow abusive behavior, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
  • Ensure proper supervision of players during practices, games, and other team activities.
  • Adhere to all league policies, including safety guidelines and background checks.

Enforcement and Disciplinary Action

All participants are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Temporary or permanent removal from games or practices
  • Suspensions or bans from Attleboro Youth Soccer activities
  • Further disciplinary review by the Attleboro Youth Soccer Board

Acknowledgement

By registering and participating in Attleboro Youth Soccer, all players, parents, spectators, coaches, and volunteers acknowledge and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Together, we uphold the integrity and spirit of the game.
